Fundraising Events

Fundraising is an important source of funds for Children’s Meeting House and brings many valuable extensions to our children’s experience at school. CMH offers many types of fundraisers, including:

The Annual Fund
At CMH, the 2012-2013 Annual Fund energizes what we do for our children – giving them a purpose and passion for learning. By sustaining the school through the Annual Fund, we are dedicated to both current and future students being life-long learners – an education that is relevant and rigorous to prepare them not just for the next step in education but also for life itself. Annual Fund goals are strategically determined by the Faculty and Staff, then vetted by the Board of Trustee in the autumn of each school year.

How does my Annual Fund gift benefit students?
Directly: Every annual fund donation supports all of the dedicated staff at CMH, small class sizes, in-depth curriculum and resources, and our expanding school offerings.
Indirectly: Strong Annual Fund participation allows for CMH’s long-term sustainability. Donations to the Annual Fund demonstrate our community’s broad-based financial commitment, allowing us to make a stronger case for greater support from outside grants and foundations.

Why are Annual Fund contributions so important?
Annual Fund gifts are unrestricted. This means CMH can designate the Annual Fund revenue in a variety of ways, to strengthen our programs and opportunities throughout the school. This year we plan to use our Annual Fund to help replace playground equipment that dates back to the 1990s. Additionally we would like to increase our 21st century tools of technology for our children and teachers, as well as begin to create our Endowment Fund.

Grand Gala (formerly known as the Love Auction)
This fundraiser has a party atmosphere with dinner, music, and both silent and live auction. Each classroom helps with the silent auctions by creating a class specific project with each student helping, as well as each class constructing a quilt. The silent auction is made up of many items donated by the CMH community and Cincinnati community at large. Although this is a fund-raising event, the Love Auction has become a major social occasion that everyone enjoys.

CMH JUNKTIQUE – Someone’s junk is some else’s treasure! For the past number of years, CMH in conjunction with the Loveland’s Fraternal Order of Eagles (FOE) has held an ultimate sale of Someone’s Junk is Someone Else’s Treasures.  The FOE is located on Karl Brown Way, a parallel street to the Loveland Bike Trail and close to Nisbet Park.

This year’s event is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, October 10 & 11, 2014 at the FOE. This annual rummage sale is used to benefit PACT (Parents Assisting Children and Teachers).  The families at Children’s Meeting House (CMH) donate the items.   The FOE supports CMH each year through a generous donation.
